watch: a 2-hour video with no chapters

Most long videos never get chapters. So you scrub blind through a 2-hour podcast looking for the one part you came for.

How it works

Three clicks between you and a navigable video.

1

Open any long video

No chapters? YouChop's icon lights up. It only wakes on videos that need it.

2

Click “Chapterize”

AI reads the transcript and builds topic chapters in seconds — titles that say what's actually in each part.

3

Jump anywhere

Chapters appear exactly where YouTube shows real ones — the seekbar and the chapter list. Click and skip.

Why it feels native

Not a sidebar. Not a summary panel.

Every other AI tool

A panel next to the video

Summarizers bolt a sidebar onto the page and hand you a wall of text. You read about the video instead of navigating it.

YouChop

Chapters in YouTube's own UI

Seekbar segments, the chapter list, hover titles — rendered where YouTube renders real chapters, so it feels like the creator added them. And any video someone already chopped loads instantly, free, for everyone.

Creator with a back-catalog full of unchaptered videos?

Chapters pasted into your descriptions become Google-searchable Key Moments. We'll chapter your entire back-catalog — up to 200 videos — for $99, once. Others charge $19–39 every month.

How you earn them

Sign up+5

Sharing helps everyone: paste the timestamps into the comments yourself (YouChop never auto-posts anything), or send them to the creator — if they add them to the description, the whole world gets chapters.
FAQ

The questions worth asking.

Is this against YouTube's rules?

No. YouChop renders chapters locally in your browser — nothing is posted, automated, or modified on YouTube itself. If you choose to share timestamps in a comment, you paste them yourself, manually, like any other comment. YouChop never auto-posts anything, anywhere.

What does the extension read?

Only the public transcript of the video you're currently watching. No browsing history, no personal data collection, minimal permissions (youtube.com only). Our privacy policy states exactly what chapter data we store and how to request deletion.

How does the creator back-catalog service access my videos?

With your permission, through YouTube's official API — you sign in with Google and consent to caption access for your own channel. Nothing is scraped, and you can revoke access anytime. Your chapters are delivered as editable text you paste into your descriptions: they're yours forever, even if you never use YouChop again.

What happens when I run out of credits?

You can earn more free (share chapters +1, invite a friend +10) or buy a pack. And any video someone has already chapterized loads instantly and never costs you a credit.

Do the chapters appear for other people?

Any YouChop user opening that video sees them instantly — it's already chopped and cached. Want everyone to benefit? Copy the timestamps and paste them into the comments, or send them to the creator to add to the description.

Does it work on every video?

It needs the video to have a transcript or captions, which almost all long-form YouTube videos do. Rare videos without any captions can't be chapterized — we'll tell you before spending a credit.

That video you're avoiding because it's 2 hours with no chapters? Fix it now.
